The newly constituted All Meghalaya Muster Roll Workers Progressive Workers Union has met Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma and apprised him of the various issues and concerns affecting muster-roll workers across the state.
The meeting was held following the formation of the new union and the election of its new Executive Committee on September 4, 2026, for the 2026–2029 term.

Represwntatives of the union said the meeting with the Chief Minister provided an opportunity to place before the State Government the concerns of muster-roll workers and seek appropriate intervention on matters affecting their welfare and service conditions.

Meanwhile, the union has clarified that following the formation of the All Meghalaya Muster Roll Workers Progressive Workers Union and its new Executive Committee, it had ceased to function under the erstwhile Joint Action Committee as representatives of muster-roll workers.

The union maintained that the newly elected Executive Committee will henceforth represent the interests of all muster-roll workers in the state and take up their concerns with the  Government and the concerned departments.
With the new Executive Committee now in place, the union said it will continue to pursue the interests of muster-roll workers
