The Meghalaya Swimming Association organised a sending-off ceremony at Crinoline Swimming Pool in Shillong on Thursday for athletes representing the state at two upcoming national-level events in Bengaluru — the 41st Sub-Junior National Swimming Championship, to be held from 4 to 5, August and the 51st Junior National Swimming Championship, scheduled from 3 to 7. August, 2025.

Athletes selected for the junior team (Boys and Girls, Groups 1 and 2) will participate in events including the 50m and 100m freestyle, 50m backstroke, 50m and 100m breaststroke, and 50m and 100m butterfly. Meanwhile, the sub-junior swimmers (Group 3, Boys and Girls) will compete in the 50m freestyle, 50m backstroke, 50m breaststroke, and 50m butterfly events.

The association extended its best wishes to the young swimmers, expressing pride in their achievements and confidence in their performance at the national level.
