STATE SWIMMERS HONOURED FOR MEDAL-WINNING PERFORMANCES
The Meghalaya Swimming Association recently felicitated swimmers who represented the state and secured medals at regional and national competitions.
Among the achievers, Pdiangsuklang Syngwan clinched a bronze medal at the East Zone ASMITA Women Swimming League held in Guwahati, while Verem Gedaliah Nongsiej secured a bronze medal at the 1st Khelo India Tribal Games 2026 in Chhattisgarh. Both swimmers competed in the 50m freestyle events of their respective tournaments.
The association also honoured other swimmers who represented Meghalaya at the two events, along with their coaches and managers. Those felicitated included Gail Darlene Syiem, Sumarbiang Mawlong, Ilarisuk Youroi, Tvsha Jalewa and Eugenea Sumer, who participated in Guwahati, and Nazareen Pariong, Em-i-rta Ksoo, Meiaipynsan L Tron, Mebankitboklang Banai, Jenifer Rymbai, Banpynshgain Syngwan and Elberz Winston Kharbani, who competed in Chhattisgarh.
