The FKJGP South East Khasi Border Circle on Sunday carried out a surprise inspection of government offices in Mawsynram following persistent public complaints over the alleged absenteeism of government employees, which has been disrupting the delivery of essential public services.

Led by General Secretary Entrust Snaitang, the organisation claimed that the inspection exposed poor attendance in several offices, with some found completely unmanned during official working hours. The FKJGP urged government employees to adhere to office timings and ensure uninterrupted public service delivery.

The organisation cautioned that it would be compelled to intensify its agitation if the alleged absenteeism continued, asserting that the negligence of government staff was causing undue hardship to the public. During the inspection, the FKJGP also noted that several government office buildings were in a dilapidated state and called upon the state government to expedite repair and renovation works to improve the condition and upkeep of public offices.
